First National Conference on Tuesday, 29th November

The Ghana Culture Forum (GCF) will hold its First National Conference on Tuesday, 29th November, 2016 at the National Theatre from 9.00am – 5.30pm.

The Conference is being held in partnership and with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts.

It is under the theme: “Projecting our National Culture: The Quest for Creativity, Excellence and Relevance”.

The Opening and Closing Sessions are scheduled as follows:

Opening Session:    9.00am – 11.45am
Closing Session:    4.30pm – 5.30pm
Venue:        Main Hall, National Theatre.

Honourable Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, is the Special Guest of Honour and will officially open the Conference.

The Keynote Speaker is Professor Kofi Agyekum, Director, School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana, Legon

The Conference Chairperson is Togbi Edem Kwaku Ashigbi (ING Kenneth Ashigbey)  Managing Director, Graphic Communications Group Limited

The theme of the conference seeks to affirm the work of the GCF which is centred around our common vision of affirming the cultural foundations of development and enhancing the profile, value and impact of the cultural sector.

The  plenary session on the theme will discuss perspectives on the challenges that confront us as a developing country and people as we grapple with the complex issues of advancing our national culture.

The business of the conference will be conducted in plenary and concurrent sessions and is expected to be attended by over 500 delegates from across the country.
