6th March. A Day for Independence. A Night for Remembrance.

4 days 3 hours away

This Independence Day, we look back at one of the most defining moments in our modern history. In 1983, over 1 million Ghanaians were forced to leave Nigeria, sparking a seismic humanitarian crisis at the Aflao border.

Omo Ghana - Man for Chop tells the gripping story of the "Ghana Must Go" era—a time of economic instability, political unrest, and the incredible resilience of a people pushed to the brink.

Celebrate our heritage and resilience this Ghana Culture Week.

Join us at the Ghana Club to witness:

The Human Cost: The families separated and the lives uprooted.

The Political Backdrop: The complex climate of Shagari’s Nigeria that led to the expulsion.

The Ghanaian Spirit: How a million people rebuilt their lives from nothing but the clothes on their backs.

📅 Date: Friday, 6th March (Independence Day)
⏰ Time: 7:00 PM
📍 Location: Ghana Club

Lest we forget the journeys that brought us here.
