Edwina Assan (Mrs.)

Edwina Assan is the Founder and Managing Director of Edtex Limited, a Ghanaian textile design and manufacturing company specializing in handcrafted batik fabrics, fashion accessories, home décor, and customized textile products for local and international markets. Through her leadership, Edtex Limited has become a recognized advocate for sustainable textile production, innovation, skills development and the promotion of Ghanaian-made products. Edwina Assan has been actively involved with the Ghana Culture Forum (GCF) since its inception, initially representing the Spinnet Textile and Garment Cluster before becoming an individual member. She then served as the Research Task Team Leader as well as a member of the Forum’s Policy and Advocacy Task Team. She has also served on the planning committees for all past Ghana Culture Week anniversary celebrations.

As General Secretary of the Ghana Culture Forum, she is committed to strengthening communication within the Forum by ensuring members receive timely information on meetings, activities, and opportunities. She is also dedicated to fostering strong internal and external relationships with members, partners, and stakeholders to advance Ghana’s arts, culture, heritage, and creative industries.

An entrepreneur in Ghana’s textile industry, Edwina has held and continues to lead in executive and leadership positions in several professional associations, including the Sector Chair of the Association of Ghana Industries (Textiles, Garments and Leather Sector). Former President of the Empretec Business Women’s Forum, former President of the Spinnet Textile and Garment Cluster, interim Treasurer for the revival of The National Association of Handicraft Exporters.
