The Ghana Culture Forum (GCF) is a membership-based, civil society consultative forum dedicated to the advancement of Ghana’s cultural space. Born out of a critical necessity at the UNESCO-led Consultative Forum on the ‘Power of Culture in Development’, GCF was established to serve as the structural bridge between government policy and grassroots creative practitioners.
Today, we represent a powerful coalition of over 10 Creative Community Domains—spanning film, audio-visual media, music production, literary arts, and digital technology. Over decades of collective action, our mission remains clear: to safeguard Ghana’s rich intangible cultural heritage, influence national legislative frameworks like the Creative Arts Industry Act, and foster a self-sustaining creative economy.

To transform artistic vision into national development, a robust financial foundation is paramount. GCF operates as a primary conduit for strategic cultural funding and international partnerships. We actively collaborate with international organizations, civil society networks, and state institutions to channel resources directly into research, capacity-building workshops, and heritage archiving.
By serving as a transparent administrative partner, we ensure that grant allocations and development funds are effectively deployed to maximize the economic impact of the creative arts across West Africa.
