Spoken Word Poetry

Member's Bio

Ehalakasa is Ghana’s premier spoken word and performance poetry collective, founded in 2007 by Sir Black and Nii Lantey. Its name blends three local languages: Eha (Ewe for song), La (Ga for sing), and Kasa (Akan for talk). The community serves as a vital platform for creative expression, cultural preservation, and social commentary. It hosts the prestigious Ehalakasa Slam, launching the careers of renowned poets like Crystal Tettey, Mutumbo Da Poet, and Hondred Percent.
