Founded in 1988 in Accra, Ghana, by the late visionary composer and musicologist Nana Danso Abiam, the Pan African Orchestra is a globally acclaimed neo-traditional orchestral ensemble.
The orchestra’s structural mission is to re-interpret, re-contextualise, and elevate traditional African orchestral music by utilising indigenous African musical instruments exclusively, completely bypassing Western symphonic tools.
