*Sherrie-Anne Donaldson-Thompson* is a visionary, a sustainability advocate, and a community leader whose work has advanced business development, renewable energy, sanitation, and cultural empowerment across Ghana and beyond.
With more than three decades of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, marketing, and investor facilitation, she has dedicated her life to creating innovative solutions that drive both economic growth and social impact.
As Founder and CEO of Global Resolve Africa, she has helped connect businesses, investors, and communities to opportunities that foster sustainable growth and long-term prosperity.
Educated at Cornell University and The King’s College, she studied Biology, Theatre Arts, English Literature and the Bible, Sherrie brings a uniquely interdisciplinary perspective to leadership, innovation, communication, and social change.
Known affectionately as “Mama Loo,” Sherrie is a passionate sanitation advocate and behavior change communication specialist. Her leadership contributed to transformative sanitation initiatives that improved access to safe, environmentally friendly facilities for thousands of young people while promoting healthier hygiene practices across communities.
A pioneer in renewable energy innovation, she founded Sun Shade Energy, whose groundbreaking energy-efficiency concept won Ghana’s prestigious Negawatt Award in 2015. She has also been a vocal advocate for renewable energy investment, local participation in the energy sector, and citizen ownership of national development opportunities.
Beyond sustainability, Sherrie champions African enterprise and cultural empowerment. As a Made in Ghana brand ambassador, supporter of MSME growth and AfCFTA opportunities, she promotes excellence in product design and development.
As the founder of the Black Ourstory Festival and Podcasts, she has created platforms that celebrate African excellence, strengthen economic empowerment, and ensure that Black stories are told through Black voices.
Through innovation, advocacy, entrepreneurship, and service, Sherrie-Anne Donaldson-Thompson has demonstrated the power of purpose-driven leadership. Her enduring contributions to sustainability, community development, economic empowerment, and cultural storytelling continue to inspire individuals and communities across Africa and the African diaspora.
