The Tapioca Foundation, a non-profit organisation, has announced plans to reposition the 2026 Tapioca Festival as a broader cultural and tourism platform promoting Ada’s heritage, natural attractions, creativity and local economic opportunities.
The six-day festival, scheduled for December 22–27, 2026, at Ada-Foah, will be held under the theme “Revival” and will feature cultural performances, music, food, fashion, film, traditional games, water sports and tourism activities.
The organisers say the festival is being transformed from an entertainment-focused event into a platform for:
- Cultural preservation
- Tourism promotion
- Creativity
- Business development
- Community participation
Visitors will be encouraged to explore Ada beyond the festival grounds, including its beaches, waterways, communities, cuisine and cultural heritage.

The festival’s economic vision is built around five areas:

The Foundation expects increased visitor activity to create opportunities for entrepreneurs, creatives, tourism operators and young people, while benefiting hotels, guest houses, restaurants, transport operators, tour providers, artisans and food vendors.
Main programme highlights
The festival will begin with a community-led beach and shoreline clean-up campaign focused on protecting Ada’s natural environment.
A major cultural feature will be Veneration of Africa (V.O.A.), showcasing African music, drumming, indigenous rhythms and performances celebrating African identity and heritage.

The African Films Festival will combine film screenings with discussions around culture, technology, enterprise and Africa’s future.
The Africa Regatta Exhibition and Kayak Experience will highlight Ada’s aquatic heritage, including canoe craftsmanship, fishing and water-based livelihoods.
The festival will conclude with a Grand Music Concert featuring established Ghanaian artistes, emerging African talent, and a combination of traditional and contemporary sounds.
The Foundation also intends to draw on Ghana’s “Black Star Experience”, bringing together traditional rhythms, cuisine, fashion, visual arts, cinema, storytelling and intellectual discussions. The overall objective is to connect Ada’s heritage with contemporary African expression, while strengthening community and intergenerational participation.
